--Jmosconi 10:23, 3 May 2008 (EDT)Prunella DeVille Isn't it fun to see your words on someone else's screen? It's fun to try to catch up with your kids in the computer skills. The days of teaching them have ended at my house.
Also hate when my students know so much more than I do about computers. This creates a line break.
Now I'm bolding this I think.
Will this italicize the text?
This bolds the text too.
Howdy - testing same time issue.

testing testing...this can be testy, should I have used my name or not??? like to talk about ESL ideas
Nice to get to test this wiki. I've never used one before. It's a lot easier than I thought.
Testing Wiki sandbox --I hope to be a frequent contributor to Wiki--- This is -- or should be -- a great collaborative learning venue.> what can I learn and what can my students learn
Here's a standard format page to play with standard format
I think this is a great place to connect online with others around a specific topic. I also like the idea of "playing" in a sandbox.
This is practice[edit]Did I post the last entry? I think I did!
This is a great way to practice using a wiki.I agree, the trouble is there are not enough hours in the day!!

I might put text here that I wanted to offset in a block quote of some kind.Note the floating table to the right. Not sure what could go there. I'm trying to understand what makes a table overlap this shaded block quote....

How to Add Text In this topic area -- as in all the ALE Wiki topic areas -- you are invited to add your own thoughts. To do so:
1. Register (if you haven't yet, it takes under a minute) by going to: http://wiki.literacytent.org/index.php?title=Special:Userlogin&returnto=Main_Page
2. Select the "edit" tab at the top of the page where you want to add to or change text. This will bring you "under the hood" of the page you are on, where you can add or change text. If you see some code next to the text that is there, ignore it. Just type in your text at the bottom of the page. Scroll down using the blue, vertical slider. You could also put your text in where you think it is supposed to go. If you get it wrong, don't worry. You can change it, or someone else will. In other words, you can learn how to add text to the wiki -- with formatting and in the right place -- or, if you don't have the time or patience for this, just add text at the bottom of the page. The topic area leader or ALE Wiki organizer will make the adjustments for you.
3. Select the "Show preview" button at the bottom of the edit page to see the changes. If they look good, scroll to the bottom and select "Save page". You can make changes before you save the page. You can select "Show preview" and make changes as many times as you want before you "Save page". You can even make changes after you "Save page."
4. Add your name and maybe your email address after your comments so readers can contact you.
5. Consider adding a brief bio to the WhosHere page
Most important to know: there is no way you can mess things up. Even if you accidentally erase a page it can easily be restored. So, don't worry. Give it a try.
