Copying material into the ALE Wiki

Copyright published materials may not be copied into the ALE Wiki unless they clearly and unambiguously are Fair Use http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fair_use or you have written permission from the author which is also kept on file by the Wiki organizer.

Postings from public electronic lists may, under the Fair Use policy [ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fair_use]] be re-posted here following these guidelines:

  • Include the header to indicate that it is a re-posting from a public electronic list. Include the following content (as it appeared in the original post)
From: [name of person who posted as it appeared in the original post]
To: [name of electronic list as it appeared in the original post
Subject: [Title of post as it originally appeared]
Date: [date of original post]
Note: to maintain this format, include <br> after each line of the header
  • Copy and paste the message into the ALE Wiki in its entirety, or clearly indicate that only a portion has been copied in
  • At the bottom, add:
[Copied here on [the date copied] by [your name and/or e-mail]
  • E-mail the person who posted the original message as a courtesy to inform her/him that the message has been re-posted on the ALE Wiki. Use or modify this language:
