Accessing the AALPD Office at Tapped In

Tapped In (TI) is an online workplace of an international community of education professionals. TI is sponsored by SRI and other institutional organizations and is free to educators.

How to sign up for Tapped In and join the AALPD Group at Tapped In
(Note: Once you become a member, these steps are not needed. You will automatically be able to find the AALPD Group room via a simple drop-down menu.)

To Sign Up for Tapped In:

1. Go to http://www.tappedin.org
2. Click the "become a member" link and register (Tapped In membership is free and ad-free).

To Join the AALPD Group at Tapped In:

1. Login to Tapped In
2. Click the Search tab in the top frame
3. Click the Groups subtab
4. Type: AALPD in the box and click the Find It! button
5. Click the link to AALPD to bring up the profile page
6. Click the link to "join this group"
7. Once joined, the AALPD Group will be in your "Favorite Places" menu in the top frame. Click that, highlight the AALPD Group and then click the Go! button next to it.
  • Once you have joined the group, then each time you return, the AALPD room is easy to find. Just revisit your “Favorite Places” menu where AALPD will be listed.
  • Tapped In automatically emails you the transcripts of your chat sessions.
  • Should you ever have difficulty, there are also volunteer Helpdesk members who are online in the Reception Area and will offer help.
