AleAreaLeader

From LiteracyTentWiki

The Adult Literacy Education Wiki has several volunteer Topic Area Leaders. These folks look after a topic area (or areas) of the wiki. They may be involved in any or all of the following:

  • Creating the topic area
  • Organizing or re-organizing the area (usually following the format described at AleNewTopic
  • Noticing practitioner and researcher questions which are pertinent to this area and adding them to the Questions section of the area
  • Adding threads of pertinent discussions from electronic lists to the Discussion section of the area
  • Adding in references to pertinent research for that area
  • Adding to the general ALE Wiki glossary and/or developing a sub-section of that glossary for their particular area
  • encouraging ALE Wiki use and modeling how to use it in both online and face-to-face forums, for example:
    • Inviting participation by asking for others to contribute to the wiki;
    • sending Wiki topic area updates to electronic lists (listservs) and inviting feedback;
    • making presentations or including the ALE Wiki topic area as a resource within a presentation on the same topic;
    • using ALE Wiki links as references in online communications, or as resources in newsletters or other publications...
  • Putting a short bio on the WhosHere page
  • Keeping up with ALE Wiki news by reading the weekly Wikiteer Update
