Hi Karisa,

For writing, you can try the REEP Writing Rubric. Here are some good resources for developing your own rubrics as well:

  • Developing Classroom Performance Assessments and Scoring Rubrics - Part II [1]
  • Scoring Rubric Development: Validity and Reliability by Barbara M. Moskal & Jon A. Leydens[2]
  • Scoring Rubrics Part I: What and When by Barbara Moskal [3]
  • Scoring Rubrics Part II: How? by Barbara M. Moskal [4]
  • Understanding Scoring Rubrics: A Guide for Teachers by Barbara Moskal [5]
  • Using Rubrics [6]
  • Using Rubrics. Teacher to Teacher [7]
  • Using Rubrics to Promote Thinking and Learning by Heidi Goodrich Andrade [8]

Hope these resources help!

How do you assess your CBET classes?
I need to start assessing my adult CBET students. What do you use to asses your students? Is CASAS the only way? Thank you!

To folks who use formative assessment:

I am interested in learning more about teachers' systems for keeping track of what students are learning and sharing this information with them. What paper-and-pencil strategies do you use? What computer-managed or computer-aided strategies? Do you record information during the class, after the class, keep it all in your head? Does anyone share formative assessment information with students by regular one-on-one conferencing, by e-mailing them, in other ways?
