Be MedWise Tennesse
From LiteracyTentWiki
The University of Tennessee's Extension and College of Pharmacy
have partnered with the National Council for Patient Information and
Education (NCPIE) to address medication literacy in our state. The Tennessee
Pharmacists Association has just recently joined us. Our partnership
program is called Be MedWise Tennessee. Tennessee has the highest per
capita consumption of prescription medications than any other state in
the country.
NCPIE was a partner in the development of the Medications in My Home
Program. We will be implementing the program in schools across the state
through our county UT Extension educators in partnership with community
pharmacists. We have a UT Extension office in each of the 95 counties in
our state. Check out our web page at:

Just another example of how states/organizations/universities are
addressing health literacy regarding medications.
