1. Blog is short for web log. A web log is a journal that is frequently updated and intended for the general public. Blogs generally represent the personality of the individual author or sponsor.

2. Short for web log, a publication of one's thoughts to a web site, often in reverse chronological order; the content and quality varies greatly. Many "bloggers" view the writing as an online diary with an audience. Web logs began in mid 1990s with availability of free web publishing tools.
