I teach in a transition to college program for adults called TechSMART at the Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology in Boston, MA. Formerly the Program Director at the Notre Dame Education Center in South Boston, I have been in adult education for over twenty years, with a short detour in community and urban Indian legal practice. I moderate the Numeracy list, an activity of the Adult Numeracy Network, and I am currently the New England regional representative for the Network. I have been a coordinator of adult education for the homeless, technology coordinator, ABE/GED math teacher, and a math curriculum developer. I continue to work in staff development by facilitating workshops for Massachusetts SABES and other adult ed professional development organizations. My passion is adult numeracy education and my handle is ABEstimator; if you see that name around, that's me.
