Grade Level Equivalent (GLE) AleAssessment
The school grade level for a given population for which a given score is the median score in that population. For example, if a test was administered during the month of October to a norming group (see Norms) of sixth grade students and the median scale score obtained was 475, then the grade equivalent for a scale score of 475 on that test would be set at 6.1 - 6 representing Grade 6 and .1 representing the month of October (September is taken as the beginning of the school year and equals .0).
