  • Supplement reading material already in use. "Currently, I use the (New Readers Press) Challenger series [ http://www.newreaderspress.com/Items.aspx?hierId=1241 ] for my Transitions students and supplement it with the iPads whenever I can think of an app that will expand upon the material. A picture is literally worth a thousand words, which can make the iPad priceless. For example, just the other day our lesson was over the solar system. I had previously installed the NASA HD iPad app from iTunes and after our reading and workbook activities, I let the students 'explore' the solar system on their own using this app on the iPad. I believe it was very educational for the students and a break from the mundane."
