Subject: [PD 4863] Navigating Around Content Filters to Receive Your NIFL List Email
From: Jackie A. Taylor

Hi All,
Piggybacking on our earlier conversations of navigating around site blocks
and pushing to have them removed:
Many of your institutions have content filters that filter out emails that
contain certain key words (I won't name them here so as not to risk this
email getting filtered out). In fact, many of you do not receive some of
your NIFL discussion list email because of this very reason. This becomes
especially problematic when people unknowingly reply to a message that was
filtered out by your email client. When that happens, you could miss entire
strings of messages that may be important to you, unless you actively review
the discussion list archives.
Since NIFL cannot prevent this from happening, check with your system
administrator to discover if there are any content filters for incoming mail
on your mail servers. If so, you should be able to request an exception for
your email address, or to add the nifl.gov email address to an "acceptable"
list.
