NJALL has moved forward with the Save Literacy-NJ campaign through strategic planning. We are expanding our network by inviting membership of other adult and workforce groups to take advantage of our experience and infrastructure by joining our listserv for information, updates, and Calls for Action. We are aggressively moving forward to organize by county, identifying leaders within each county to encourage and monitor activity and provide feedback.
Today, the efforts of our membership are focused on moving an essential state bill through the legislative process, so we will commence with the Save Literacy-NJ campaign beginning February 25th. That campaign will include mail, faxes, telephone calls, visits, and other contacts with legislators across the state. Additionally, we have planned a session for our annual conference in May to support general advocacy efforts of adult education supporters. We are planning opportunities for that event for updates, capacity building, and future planning.
