Research Questions to be Addressed by the Field
National Adult Education Practitioner-Researcher Symposium
“The Meeting of the Minds”
December 9 – 11, 2004
Sacramento, CA
During the opening presentation at the National Adult Education Practitioner-Researcher Symposium, one of the presenters asked those gathered in the room to generate a list of research questions that they would like to pose about adult education. Participants were seated in groups of roughly 8, and each group submitted a few questions. I have arranged those questions into topics, ranked by the number of questions posed. Clicking on the topic links below will bring you to the questions. Variations of similar questions were written up as one sample question, and the number of variants is noted after the question. For the most part, questions are presented as they were written. This means that some might not be clear. If you were a participant and see one of your own questions in a form that doesn't capture what you were asking, please feel free to edit the question.
To respond to the questions, use the edit function of the wiki. To add a new question, use a single *. To add a comment, use **. Using this notation creates the following structure:
Topic
- Question
- Comment
When citing research that has been done on the question, please try to include as full a reference as possible.
