Applying Research in Reading Instruction for Adults: First Steps for Teachers by Susan M. McShane (2005)

• This Partnership for Reading publication provides in-depth instructional techniques in alphabetics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. The techniques presented are informed by the publication Research-Based Principles for Adult Basic Education Reading Instruction (2002) and the professional wisdom of a panel of experts.
• The NIFL Family Literacy List held a discussion with Susan McShane, author of Applying Research in Reading Instruction for Adults: First Steps for Teachers, on February 4-8, 2008. Assessment Strategies and Reading Profiles
