GENERAL
- This Partnership for Reading publication provides in-depth instructional techniques in alphabetics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. The techniques presented are informed by the publication Research-Based Principles for Adult Basic Education Reading Instruction (2002) and the professional wisdom of a panel of experts.
- The NIFL Family Literacy List held a discussion with Susan McShane, author of Applying Research in Reading Instruction for Adults: First Steps for Teachers, on February 4-8, 2008. - Based on the Adult Reading Components study (ARCS), this interactive website provides a mini-course on assessment and instruction of the reading components, links to research, as well as assessments (some of which are downloadable).
