ALE Wiki Area Leader, Adult Literacy Professional Development and Accountability

I am a professional developer for the University of Tennessee Center for Literacy Studies. I began working in adult basic education as a GED teacher, then as a welfare-to-work teacher with Tennessee's welfare reform initiative. I moderate the NIFL-AALPD discussion list, and I am currently Vice-Chair of the Association of Adult Literacy Professional Developers (http://www.aalpd.org/). I coordinate various professional development activities for UTCLS, and I am working on my doctorate in Collaborative Learning at UT. I have a passion for work in adult literacy, advocacy, and the environment.
